Un tributo a todos los bomberos
El calendario de
los bomberos "FDNY Calender of Heroes", fue producido
originalmente para su distribución en 2001, se suspendió su tirada
como consecuencia de los ataques terroristas del 11 de
septiembre. En el calendario había fotografías de tres miembros
que perdieron la vida en dicha fecha: Robo Cordice, Tom Foley, y
Ángel Juarbe.. Los funcionarios del departamento pensaron
inicialmente que el calendario pudiera ser ofensivo, o demasiado
doloroso para los amigos y las familias de los fallecidos el 11 de
septiembre. Pero después de las discusiones con los modelos
supervivientes y las familias de quienes perdieron la vida en los
ataques, el departamento decidió seguir adelante con el
proyecto redenominándolo con el título de "Calendario de Héroes",
incluyendo a los tres bomberos que hicieron el sacrificio supremo.

Tribute to all Firefighters
FDNY Calendar of Heroes, which was originally produced for
distribution in 2001, was put on hold in the aftermath of the
September 11th terrorist attacks. The calendar featured three
members who were lost that day: Firefighters Rob Cordice, Tom
Foley, and Angel Juarbe. Department officials initially thought
the calendar might be offensive or too painful for the friends and
family of those members that were lost on September 11th. But
after discussions with the surviving calendar models and the
families of those killed in the attacks, the department decided to
move ahead with the project, renaming the calendar-The Calendar of
Heroes-and including the three firefighters who made the supreme
sacrifice. |
